Kilmora (Berberis asiatica or Indian Barberry) is a medicinal berries growing in this part of Uttarakhand. The fresh roots of Kilmora are used for curing diabetes and jaundice and also reported to possess anti-cancer properties. The stems are recommended in cure of rheumatism. It is believed that Almora city got the name from Kilmora and therefore what better name for this first floor bedroom towards Almora town other than “Kilmora”. The front glass window overlooks the valley and the Himalayas and the side glass window gives a glimpse of the NH 109 winding towards Almora. Kilmora provides a comfortable 258 sq feet of area and a 57 sq feet balcony overlooking the valley. It has a 32” SMART SAMSUNG LED TV, a study table with an ergonomically designed pushback chair, a mini Refrigerator and Tea kettle along with complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk sachets. A steam iron and an ironing board is also provided.
Room tariff : Covers two adults and two children below 12 years of age per room inclusive of Breakfast, unless mentioned otherwise. Additional pax would be on chargeable basis and a separate mattress would be provided.
The room is aesthetically designed with contemporary LED lighting scheme and large glass windows giving a glimpse of the valley and snow peak Himalayas on a clear day. The room has a study table with an ergonomically designed pushback chair so that our guest do not feel tired even after long sessions. A USB (Type A) socket comes handy to charge your mobile.
Though the climate here remains pleasant during summers and cold during winters, we understand that our guests would still like to have their drinks chilled and therefore the room has a mini Refrigerator.
A Philips steam Iron and a folding ironing table is kept in the cupboard of the room.
The bedroom has a Tea Kettle and complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk sachets. Tea ordered from the kitchen would be on charge basis.
A 32" SMART SAMSUNG LED TV is provided for entertainment in the room.
The cottage provides super fast wifi through fibre optics cable.
A well designed large cupboard in each room would take care of guest’sr clothes. The cupboard also stores the steam Iron and the iron board. The luggage rack comes handy to place your baggage instead of finding place to keep them.
The attached washroom is equipped with wall hanging water closet, table top counters and latest LED lights. The bath area is separated by a glass partition ensuring that water doesn’t spread over the entire wash room.
The Cottage interior is designed for comfort and privacy with amenities generally found in premium hotels for long stay guests. The idea is to provide an experience that will want you to come back again and again.
The Cottage offers dormitory accommodation with attached washroom and bunk beds for drivers of our guests on a nominal payment basis, in a separate building. This is to ensure that your driver gets a restful sleep, so much necessary and critical for hill driving. Guests are requested to book driver accommodation when booking their rooms.
The cottage has inverter for power backup. Further, the cottage also have solar panels on the roof and in case of prolong power grid failure (which may happen during heavy snow falls or during storms) the inverter can get charged through solar power to provide uninterrupted power during your stay.
Two caretakers live in the Cottage to serve you 24x7.
The Cottage has a small collection of books from the personal collection of your host. Books by authors like ‘Jim Corbett’ to ‘William Dalrymple’ can be issued to guests during their stay and required to be returned while checking out.
We understand that some guests do not like to be separated from their pets during vacation. Our Ground Floor Bedroom – Khubani, is meant for such guests at a nominal charge. Please read T&Cs for bringing pets.
