Nandini, a premium cottage nestled atop a serene hillside in village Baburkhola, P.O. Dwarson, at an altitude of about 6,000 ft. above sea level, on Ranikhet-Almora road merely 19 km from Ranikhet and 28 km from Almora, offers breath-taking vistas of the snow-capped Himalayan range in front, and a verdant Pine forest at the back.
The Cottage has four aesthetically designed rooms for the guests, each named after a locally found fruit. There is also a welcoming common living area and cozy dining space. The rooms are designed to ensure privacy for guests, including privacy in the balconies. Furnished with well thought out furniture and fixtures, a good thought has also gone into the placing of each furniture item to allow free movement for the guests in the rooms. The beds have 8 inch pocket spring mattresses for comfort and restful sleep. Each room can comfortably accommodate two adults and upto two children (under the age of five years). A nominal amount is charged for a third adult with a separate mattress laid on the floor to sleep.
The Cottage interior is designed for comfort and privacy with amenities generally found in premium hotels for long stay guests. The idea is to provide an experience that will want you to come back again and again.
The Cottage has a kids play area with a Wavy slide, Swing, a Merry-Go-Round and a Puppy Rider to make kids stay enjoyable and memorable.
A well manicured lawn with a gazebo and a swing will come in handy to bask in the sun during daytime and enjoy a bonfire in the night, listening to music of your choice on a JBL Sound Box. You can also practice early morning yoga on the lawn.
The Cottage offers dormitory accommodation with attached washroom and bunk beds for drivers of our guests on a nominal payment basis, in a separate building. This is to ensure that your driver gets a restful sleep, so much necessary and critical for hill driving. Guests are requested to book driver accommodation when booking their rooms.
The cottage has inverter for power backup. Further, the cottage also have solar panels on the roof and in case of prolong power grid failure (which may happen during heavy snow falls or during storms) the inverter can get charged through solar power to provide uninterrupted power during your stay.
Two caretakers live in the Cottage to serve you 24x7.
The Cottage has a small collection of books from the personal collection of your host. Books by authors like ‘Jim Corbett’ to ‘William Dalrymple’ can be issued to guests during their stay and required to be returned while checking out.
We understand that some guests do not like to be separated from their pets even during vacation. Our Ground Floor Bedroom – Khubani, is meant for such guests at a nominal charge. Please refer to T&Cs for bringing Pets in Tariff section.
Your stay at Nandini will be made comfortable by the Cottage staff – 2 available 24×7; one on part time basis. All staff are local, from the surrounding villages. The cottage provides direct employment to 3 locals and indirect employment to many others instrumental in the smooth running of the Cottage. We request our guests to treat them with dignity.
